One of my favourite races each year is Åsnes Expedition Amundsen and this year I was lucky enough to shoot it for the 7th time!

100km across the largest mountainplateau in Northern Europe. 40kg in your sled and temperatures down to -25c. That`s what`s facing you in you sign up for «the world`s hardest expedition race» – Åsnes Expedition Amundsen.

The race follows the path of the famous explorer Roald Amundsen who conquered the South Pole in 1911. To prepare for the expedition  he used Hardangervidda as his trainingground. In 1896 he tried to cross the vast mountainplateau, but had to turn back due to bad weather. The attempt nearly ended his life. Today 200 athletes set out for the same expedition as Amundsen did.

Check out Xtremeidfjord for more info about the race.
