About a week ago I spent some time up north to shoot the first ever The Arctic Triple – Lofoten UltraTrail. Not just was it the first official race under «The Arctic Triple» banner, but as it turns out it was also my first 100 miles.
The Arctic Triple – Lofoten UltraTrail is one of three races that will be held under the same banner. The other two are a triathlon and a skimo. Previously I`ve been to Lofoten and shot all three test races, but finally the day was here and the first official race was set.
Being my first 100 miles I was a bit worried about the distance. But in the end it was a lot more calm than I imagined. Yes, I did get tired and didnt sleep much, but I am used to that. A «normal» Ironman-distance triathlon is a lot more hectic and hard to shoot than a 100 mile ultratrail. I guess, just as the runners, I settled in and shot in «Ultra-speed».
Most of my pictures was up and running on Getty Images just a few hours after the last athlete crossed the finishline, but here are a few that didn`t make the cut.
